Over last several years Professor Kanicki’s group has cultivated numerous collaborations in several fields of study. Our current collaborations in both industry and academia include:



  • Alan Heeger (University of California, Santa Barbara)

    Our collaboration involves physics and fabrication of the organic field-effect transistors and organic photo dectors. Professor Heeger's group.
  • Pierre Petroff (University of California – Santa Barbara)

    Our collaboration with Professor Petroff focuses on materials characterization of porphyrin-based organic semiconductor thin-films and nanometer-scale enhancement of thin-film morphology.
  • Guillermo C. Bazan (University of California, Santa Barbara)

    Our mutual interest is in the area of research related to organic semiconductors. Professor Bazan's group.
  • David Martin (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor)

    Our collaboration with Professor Martin’s group focuses on morphological and electrical characterization of novel porphyrin- and acene-based solution-processible organic semiconductors.
  • Adam J. Matzger (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor)

    Our collaboration with Professor Matzger's group focuses on organic synthesis to make polymers suitable for organic electronics to be used by our group.
  • Jamie D. Philips (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor)

    Our collaboration with Professor’s Philips group involves the fabrication of the ZnO and ferroelectric thin-films for thin-film transistor applications.
  • Center For Advanced Computing (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor)

    The CAC provides access to several clusters for high-performance academic computing, which Professor Kanicki’s group utilizes to study the electronic structures of novel organic semiconductors.


  • Applied Komatsu Technology (AKT) is subsidiary of Applied Materials (Santa Clara, CA)

    Our collaboration with AKT focuses on the development of new methods for PECVD and etching of thin films used in manufacturing of hydrogenated amorphous silicon thin film transistors.
  • eMagin (Hopewell Junction, NY)

    Our collaboration with eMagin examines novel packaging technologies and materials for organic light-emitting devices and displays.
  • Dow Chemical (Midland, MI)

    Our collaboration with Dow Chemical provided access to very pure high quality organic materials used by our group to fabricated organic polymer light emitting devices and organic thin-film transistors.



  • Fraunhofer Institute for Allied Optics and Precision Engineering (Jena, Germany).

    Our collaboration with Dr. Feitner from IOF focuses on development of the laser-lithographic micro-patterning on free-formed surfaces.


  • Merck Chemical Ltd. (Chilworth, UK)

    Our collaboration with Merck Chemicals allows us to use very high purity liquid crystal polymers and organic insulators for organic filed-effect transistors.



  • Profs. Hiroko Yamada and Noboru Ono (Ehime University, Japan)

    Our collaboration with Ehime University involves synthesis and electrical testing of novel porphyrin-based organic semiconductors.
  • Prof. Yong Cao (South China University of Technology, China)

    Our collaboration with Professor Cao involves development and characterization of novel fullerene-based organic semiconductors for optoelectronic devices.


  • LG Phillips LCD (South Korea)

    Our collaboration with LG Phillips focuses on the design of novel transistor structures and circuits for active-matrix OLEDs.
